SlabShield is manufactured using a flame lamination process bonding two layers of polyethylene to a layer of aluminum. The foil will be centered between the layers of polyethylene to protect the foil from the lime in the concrete. SlabShield works as a continuous vapor barrier, thermal break, and radon retarder all in one! It comes with a ship lap on both sides to make installation a snap and there is no right or wrong side to face up or down. Simply unroll the 63 foot product, cut it to your desired length and overlap your next run using the ship lap that is built in to the material. Best of all, you maintain your 4’ coverage even with the overlap!!! One commonly overlooked aspect of the SlabShield is its comfort factor on the job site. Contractors kneeling down to tie off radiant tubing now have a surface on which to work that won’t break or pull apart and is comfortable on their knees!
